Local Employers

The Health Works for Cornwall Programme is funded through the European Social Fund and is also Cornwall Council Match Funded. The aim of the programme is to remove barriers for participants so that they can access and maintain employment. The project seeks to identify employers who are committed to promoting equality and diversity values and to assist in matching candidates to employment opportunities based on their skill sets.

We work with participants & employers to offer in-work support, as well as to assist in setting up work-taster opportunities.  We can also deliver training and support to businesses wanting to make inclusivity a normal part of their business model.  

We work with people county-wide from ages 16-65. (ESF eligibility requires evidence of the right to live & work in the UK and to be out of work.)

Employers who take an active approach to inclusivity report that their workforce better represents their customer base. This enhances their corporate image, improves employee retention & generates business.

Conversely, social exclusion and poverty can inhibit business growth potential. (CIPD factsheet 6428)

• Support from Cornwall Council’s Education Business Partnership team to set up work placements
• Development of recruitment pipelines
• Dedicated single-point-of-contact with employment broker to support placement
• Promotion of your business as an E&D inclusive employer
• Support to set up fully funded work placements through Kickstart
• Mentoring and coaching support for employees in employment
• Support for employees with Access To Work scheme
• Bespoke workshops for potential candidates and employers
