February 17th is the Random Acts of Kindness Day for those of you who value kindness
#bekind
Why not tell a friend why they are special to you, check in on someone who may be struggling and offer to lend a helping hand.
Sometimes it’s the smallest act that makes the biggest impact – something as simple as saying please or thank you can turn a day around and make life seem that much better.
Random Acts of Kindness Day encourages you to see the good in people.
This day came about by the late Author Anne Herbert who visited a restaurant in California back in 1982 where she read a very negative quote on the back of a placemat which immediately inspired her to write the phrase “practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty” on the back of her own placemat.
So, although Random Acts of Kindness Day hasn’t been around all that long, kindness itself certainly has.
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
